Hyperfibre & Wi-Fi 7
Your questions answered
In last months blog on Wi-Fi 7, we talked about how Wi-Fi 7 quadruples your connection speed and introduced Hyperfibre, the next generation of fibre internet connection. We had such huge interest in that post that this month we will answer the most common questions we received.
Can I get it at home?
If you are already on Fibre then its very likely you will be able to get 2GB and 4GB connections, however 8GB fibre is still limited to key exchanges.
Use the address checker here to see what’s available around you.
What is the monthly cost from the Internet Service Provider (ISP)?
A 2GB speed with unlimited data plan starts from $109 per month and the 4GB plans start at $148 per month also with unlimited data.
How much for a single access point?
After Chorus swap your boxy white ONT for a curvey black one, our technicians will come and change your current router for a multigigabit router and install the Wi-Fi 7 access point.
The hardware for this costs $3,647+gst and installation will take a few hours on top of that.
How much to upgrade a larger system?
Along with the ONT, router and access point upgrades above, you will needs a few more access points and a gigabit switch.
The hardware to upgrade a 3 access point system will cost $6,934+gst and installation will be around 6 hours labour on top of that.
How soon can I get it?
ISP connection times seem to be around 2 weeks at present and our install lead-times are also around 2 weeks in Auckland (faster in Wellington and Christchurch), so if you are interested in getting this installed, or for more info, then click to contact our friendly residential technology experts Brendon (via email or mobile) or Alex (via email or mobile), and we will provide you with an accurate estimate.
