Education Sector - Projects Summary

Creating learning spaces for modern teaching

Automation Associates has delivered a wide range of audiovisual (AV) and automation projects across the education sector, from universities and tertiary campuses to schools and specialist training facilities. These environments demand reliable, robust, and intuitive technology that supports teaching and collaboration across multiple spaces and campuses.

Our experience spans lecture theatres, hybrid classrooms, performance spaces, training facilities, and campus-wide AV systems.

Working closely with educators, architects, and project teams, we design and deliver systems that are easy to use, scalable, and tailored to modern learning environments.

University of Auckland

Automation Associates delivered multiple lectern-style presentation spaces across seminar rooms and laboratories, providing integrated projection, direct display technology, confidence monitoring, and voice reinforcement systems. These spaces were designed for simple, reliable control while ensuring clear visibility and audio for students.

Manukau Institute of Technology

At the Manukau campus, we completed a large-scale AV deployment including a 200-seat auditorium and 45 teaching spaces. The project incorporated projection systems, direct-view displays, and sound reinforcement to ensure a consistent teaching experience throughout the campus.

New Zealand Campus of Innovation & Sport

At the Wellington campus, we delivered AV systems for a lecture theatre, outdoor LED displays on sports fields, and multiple indoor spaces including an accommodation block and cycle studio. The project also included campus-wide digital signage and video distribution to support communication and engagement across the facility.

Ko Awatea Training Hall

AV solutions were implemented for a training facility with a lecture theatre and breakout spaces. A lectern-based control system with a 21-inch interactive screen and confidence monitor gives presenters intuitive control of presentations and room technology.

Diocesan School for Girls

AV systems across orchestra, choir, dance, and drama spaces feature video and audio reticulation, drop-down and edge-blended screens, short-throw projectors, Crestron touch control, and ten practice rooms with instrument connections and amplification.

Sommerville Intermediate

We designed and installed AV systems for the school’s hall and theatre, creating a flexible environment for assemblies, performances, and productions. The system includes distributed AV, video routing, a music desk for performances, and drop-down projection with large-format screens.

Whangārei Heads School

We replaced a failing DIY security camera system with a robust, cost-effective solution, improving visibility, deterring vandalism, and providing flexible, high-quality coverage before, during, and after a phase of construction, providing significant improvements in image quality and coverage, particularly at night.

ACG College

Automation Associates installed a public address (PA) system at ACG College for broadcasting school announcements. Controls and announcements are made from reception, with two zones: one covering classrooms and the student hub, and a second feed dedicated to the theatre.

Supporting the Future of Learning

Across these projects, Automation Associates has helped educational institutions create spaces that support modern teaching methods, hybrid learning, and campus-wide communication.

Our focus is on technology that works seamlessly for educators and students alike – enhancing learning while remaining simple, reliable, and easy to operate.
