Epsom Villa - Beautiful renovation

The latest home audio, High Def video and control system technology.

The client was undertaking a major renovation and wanted to upgrade the existing AV and control systems to take advantage of the latest audio, HD video and control system technology while utilising their existing Apple devices as the control interface.

The clients enjoy entertaining friends and family regularly therefore the solution had to be simple for guest of all ages to use with the ability for the family to enjoy their media independently from one another.

The home is a villa with a modern interior therefore the solution had to be discrete yet powerful enough to throw a reasonable sized party.

The updated AV systems we provided deliver the client and their family an enhanced level of enjoyment within their home.

They compliment the fresh new look of the home and provide additional atmosphere, whether they’re listening to radio in the morning, enjoying a movie or sports game, hosting a business function, intimate dinner or a summer pool party. They have the flexibility to zone the entertainment into separate areas catering to all ages, family members and guests at all times.

The choice of aesthetically discrete products ensures the AV and control systems don’t detract away from the classic design elements of the home.

Recessed ceiling speakers and a wall mounted TV leave this bedroom with a fresh uncluttered look and clean lines while providing music and entertainment at the push of a button.

Hidden speakers and discretely mounted controls mean setting up for parties is as simple as pushing a button.

Close proximity to neighbours meant that careful consideration was given to the location of the outdoor speakers.  In this case 8″ Granite / epoxy composite rock speakers were used which have an improved forward to rear sound pressure ratio over standard outdoor boxed speakers.  These were located right at the fence and pointing into the entertainment area.

Not only does this design keep it quieter for the neighbours but it allows a little distance between the point source and the listeners for better imaging, reduced comb filter and pressure fluctuations as you move around the space (in other words don’t mount speakers close to people who are trying to have a conversation!)

The poolside BBQ area featured louvretec electric louvres over the BBQ to enable cooking in any of Auckland’s many possible weather conditions.

The clients existing Home Theatre receiver was upgraded to a new unit and the old plasma was upgraded to a new Samsung 8000 Series LED TV in order to support HDMI video processing in the living room theatre.

An RTI control system was integrated with the theatre, HDMI matrix, Nuvo multi-room audio system and source devices to provide a seamless point of wireless control for all the AV components.

The RTI control interface allowed the client to use their existing iPads, iPhones and iTouch devices to control any room and television.

Five concurrent RTI licences ensure the whole family can control their own areas at the same time without having to fight over the remote control.
